ESG Principles

Sovereign Metals

Companies managed by Apollo Group are committed to integrating strong Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices into every aspect of our operations.

This commitment ranges from sustainability practices through to strict governance standards and supporting the development of the local communities where we operate.

We actively engage with local stakeholders to understand their needs and aspirations, fostering partnerships that drive economic growth, education, and infrastructure development.

Click here for an overview of how Sovereign Metals, one of our current projects, has transformed agricultural capacity in the local Malawian community where it operates.

The Sovereign Metals Conservation Farming Project has dramatically improved food security in a region where 5 million people experience chronic food scarcity.

By investing in locally driven initiatives, education, and training we strive to create lasting benefits that empower communities and promote shared prosperity

Sovereign Metals

Sovereign Metals has recently promoted Ms Tupoche Kayange to Laboratory Manager, in line with the Company’s employee training and development program, and as part of the Company’s broader ESG goals.

Ms Kayange has been instrumental in developing and managing Sovereign’s laboratory facility in Lilongwe, Malawi. Ms Kayange led the facility’s expansion and commissioning of new equipment to support the bulk sample programs that are now underway.

Appointments such as these reinforce the project’s ambition to strive for equal opportunity and fairness in employing a diverse, local workforce. Sovereign Metals currently employs over 80 individuals in Malawi.

Berkeley Energia

Since 2018, at our Berkeley Energia Project, greenhouse effect emissions have been reduced by almost 80% and since 2011 nearly Euro 40,000,000 has been allocated in local consumption to the province of Salamanca. This dedication to supporting the communities where we operate equates to the annual wage of nearly 1,866 people.
